Press Release - Manulife Golf Challenge 2009
On April 2nd, the 5th annual Canadian golf tournament took place, again sponsored by Manulife - the Manulife Golf Challenge 2009. The successful and fun-filled tournament was played under great weather conditions at the beautiful course of Seletar Country Club. Among the 80 players were the guest-of-honour H.E. David Sevigny (High Commissioner of Canada), his counterpart Mr. Koh Yong Guan (High Commissioner of Singapore to Canada), the High Commissioner of Australia H.E. Doug Chester, Mr. Tan Guong Ching and many other sporty Canadians and friends of Canada.

The title of Best Individual Nett Stableford went to Kevin Cumbers (46 Pts), followed by 1st Runner Up Thomas Leow (45 Pts). The Best Individual Gross Stableford was David Foo (33 Pts) and the Lady Champion title went to Sally Ng (41 Pts). Last but not least the Winning Team prize was for the team of Loh & Loh (K.H. Loh, H.K. Loh, Johnson Tang and B.L. Koey with 111 Pts). An outstanding performance was delivered by H.E. Doug Chester, who made a Hole-In-One on the 15th hole! The Nearest the Pin was also won by David Foo (8 ft), while Bill Cain, of key sponsor Santa Fe, took home the prize for the Longest Drive (270 meter).

The purpose of this event was to raise money for the Singapore-Canada Learning Exchange Fund and all proceeds form the Silent Auction went directly to this Fund. We are very happy to announce that we raised a substantial amount for the Fund.
