Wednesday, July 26, 2006

A sunny day and the chance to win 3 hole-in-one prizes
rewarded the 175 golfers that supported our Tournament this
year. Taking over both courses at Laguna National Golf &
Country Club the golfers lined up in 'Wish Mobiles' and,
with blue flags flying high, set off for a fun-filled
afternoon.

As the golfers enjoyed their round, enthusiastic Make-A-
Wish volunteers encouraged them to participate in fun
challenges. Those that managed to pull off the stunt of
landing their ball inside the Charity Star (whilst wearing
a pirate's patch) were rewarded with the return of their
$10 'fee'. Our guest Junior Players (Mr Levine Tan, Mr Lion
Goh, Ms Ji Jia Li & Ms Joey Poh) also enjoyed the light
hearted games and demonstrated their expert skills, even
when hampered by a Pirate Patch!

The party atmosphere continued even when the golf clubs had
been packed away as golfers streamed into the Eagle
Ballroom to enjoy pre-dinner drinks. Morton's added a touch
of glamour with a Martini counter and The Marriott and Blue
Canyon Country Club offered great deals, with part of the
proceeds going to Make-A-Wish.

Mrs Yu-Foo, Minister of State, Ministry of Community
Development, Youth & Sports graced the event as our Guest
of-Honour and assisted in the prize presentation. With the
introduction of the Make-A-Wish Championship Trophy, this
year's overall winner, Mr Darren Ng took the honour of
being the first to be emblazoned on the plaque.
