PERTAPIS is an approved charitable organization that has been accorded with the status of an Institution of Public Character (IPC) in addition to being a full member of the National Council of Social Services (NCSS). Our core competency is managing sheltered Homes under guidelines from various government agencies. Young boys and girls below the age of 21 make up 70% of our 320 residents. Most of them are mainly from dysfunctional families, cases of parental abuses and juvenile delinquencies. In addition to the rehabilitation programme at the homes, we emphasize on their education and employment prospect.
We have presently the following educational and training scheme for them:
The 'Back-To-School' Programme: This is to ensure that residents of school going age will be placed in school to continue with their education.
Social Enterprise Workshop: For those who have passed the school going age, we have a printing workshop and hairstyling training scheme in partnership with other profession.
Our "Swing for Hope" Charity Golf 2009 will be held on Thursday, 9th April 2009 at the Keppel Club. This theme was chosen to symbolize the hope and aspiration of the young residents at our Welfare Homes for better future through education and employment. The primary objective of this event is to raise S$350,000.00 for the benefit of these young residents.
The Minister for Community Development Youth and Sports (MCYS), Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, has kindly consented to be the Guest of Honour for the dinner in supporting this good cause. Mayor of Central CDC, Mr Zainuddin Nordin, will be our golf 'tee-off' special guest. Among other invited guests for the occasion are Cabinet Ministers, MPs, CDC Mayors, Corporate Sectors and Business Entrepreneurs.
We would like to invite you and your esteemed organization to be part of this prestigious and meaningful event by taking up one of the many sponsorship packages or Corporate Flight in our golf tournament. We have a Mercedes-Benz E-Class E200 Kompressor for 2 par 3 hole as the hole-in-one prize.
